PT Trimitra Garmedindo (Trimed) was founded in 1992 with the main aim of being a supplier of blood pressure meter components which are garment processed or sewn. "Trimed produces all types of cuffs (nylon and cotton puff) and medical bags/caseware to meet the needs of PT Sugih Instrumentdo Abdi (SIA), said Gagan Sugandi, Managing Director of Trimed.
The idea to grow Trimed into more than just a company with one customer emerged when SIA Director Ade Tarya invited Gagan to take part in the world's international medical equipment exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany, in 1994. SIA was one of the participants in the medical equipment exhibition. Seeing such a large number of exhibitors -- up to 3,500 companies -- and visitors reaching 137 thousand people, Gagan found a market for a product he had not yet made, namely medical bags. Gagan also used the opportunity to visit SIA customers, just to test his ideas. From this activity, he became increasingly convinced that there were business opportunities that could be exploited. “I see that there is a big opportunity waiting for medical bag products. "From there I was determined to enter this business," Gagan recalled.
